ZWO 7-Position Electronic Filter Wheel for 36mm Color Filters

The ZWO Electronic Filter Wheel, version II, is designed for use with monochrome astronomy cameras. The large EFW body and screw holes on the cover make for an easy and more secure connection when installed on an ASI camera. This EFW comes with seven positions for 36 mm filters. While the EFW is compatible with ZWO 36 mm filters, make sure to check that the thickness of other brand filters are compatible with the EFW design. The thickness of third party filters should be between 1.5 mm and 3.0 mm. The thickness of the filter frame is 1.8 mm.

ZWO has designed the body of the EFW out of CNC milled, aircraft grade aluminum. The thickness of the EFW is only 20 mm. It uses high quality stepper motors. During your astrophotography sessions, you can rotate the filter wheel clockwise or counter clockwise, making filter selection easy.

When compared to the original 36 mm electronic filter wheel, the EFW II is bigger and comes with screw holes on the front and back covers to aid in direct connection of the EFW to the imaging camera. This brings the filters closer to the camera sensor. It also makes the EFW II compatible with the ZWO M68 OAG.

In order to power the EFW up, you do not need multiple cables. All you need is one USB cable. The power consumption is 120mAh @ 5V, which can be operated from the cooled CMOS's USB hub.
