Astrozap Light Shield for 12" Dobsonian Telescopes

This Light Shield from Astrozap, proudly made in the USA, blocks stray light from affecting your dark adaption and concentration while observing. In Dobsonian telescopes, the eyepiece is located near the open end of the optical tube. Stray light often makes its way into the scope-side of the eyepiece and interferes with your observing experience by reducing image contrast and perhaps temporarily ruining your dark adaptation. These shields attach with a strap and velcro closure, and they are made of ABS plastic for superior style, effortless maintenance, and maximum durability.

While you may not need a full dew shield for a Dob, an Astrozap Light Shield can increase contrast by blocking stray light entering the back of your eyepiece. The Light Shield from Astrozap is easy to attach, remove, and store. Shield is made from rugged ABS with flat black felt on the inside surface. It's held in place by a non-slip band and sturdy strap with heavy duty velcro closure. Professional construction, just like Astrozap flexible dew shields. Fits over the end of the tube, so it can be placed in various locations as needed.
